    Minimization of the import tariffs only means that we will have more of the agricultural imports coming in. This will affect our agricultural produce since our local produce cannot in any way compete with the international products due to increased cost of production. Opening up our borders means hurting the local farmer and also means that his/ her product will not have fair competition as it is already!

    What are the alternatives? What are better ways of addressing these issues?
