I would encourage the growth of Non traditional Export [NTEs]foods like cassava, yams, finger millet, sorghum,traditional vegetables like nightshade, spider plant, clotolaria only to mention but a few. Instead of moving to the commercial tree planting that not only destroys the rain patterns and causes increased soil acidity as the Eucalyptus tree. I would recommend the growing of NTEs.
I think I support the NTEs initiative....basing less on the commercial aspect and trying to focus more on feeding this nation than exporting which does not brand Kenya's products in any way! We should be able to rely more on our traditional food and stop thinking of coffee, tea, or better still bio fuels!
